Robinhood Markets reached a new all-time high of $136.84 on Monday, before closing at $136.72, marking a 12.3% gain from Friday’s close. The surge places Robinhood’s market valuation at over $121 billion.

Shares of Robinhood have climbed 35% since the company’s addition to the S&P 500 Index was announced earlier this month. Year-to-date in 2025, the stock has surged an impressive 267%, making it one of the best-performing stocks of the year.

While the recent rally was not accompanied by any formal corporate announcements, CEO Vlad Tenev took to X.com (formerly Twitter) on Monday morning to highlight milestones for Robinhood’s Prediction Markets. “Robinhood Prediction Markets just crossed 4 billion event contracts traded all-time, with over 2 billion in Q3 alone. And we’re just starting,” he wrote, underscoring the platform’s growing traction.

Later in the day, Tenev appeared to taunt short sellers with two tweets stating, “Short selling involves unlimited risk” and “Shorting on Robinhood. Soon for bears of all sizes,” hinting at confidence in the company’s future performance.

Robinhood’s Prediction Markets primarily focus on sports betting, allowing users to trade “Event Contracts”—a type of binary option—on outcomes of events such as college or NFL football games. This growing sector represents a promising expansion beyond Robinhood’s traditional strengths in retail stock and crypto trading.

Institutional interest has also contributed to the stock’s surge. Reports indicate that institutional investors and professional hedge funds now hold over 90% of publicly available Robinhood shares, a notable increase following the company’s S&P 500 inclusion.

Robinhood is going to release its Q3 2025 results in the coming weeks. Despite Q3 historically being a quieter period for trading volume, investor sentiment suggests expectations for a strong quarter, fueled by the company’s expanding offerings and ongoing market momentum.

With sports betting emerging as a new growth avenue and institutional demand climbing, Robinhood appears poised to maintain its upward trajectory in the near term.
