Robinhood (NASDAQ: HOOD) has officially launched crypto trading in the UK, following the company’s recent approval as a registered crypto asset firm by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The move expands Robinhood’s investment offering, allowing eligible UK customers to trade digital assets directly through its app alongside stocks, shares ISAs, equities, options and futures.

The company said the crypto service is being delivered through Bitstamp UK Ltd, which is registered with the FCA as a cryptoasset service provider. The rollout to eligible customers begins this week.

Robinhood is introducing the service with zero trading fees, as well as no account maintenance or custody charges. The company positioned the offering as a low-cost alternative to existing UK crypto platforms, some of which use wider spreads or less transparent pricing models.

Customers will initially gain access to more than 50 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP and Hyperliquid (HYPE). The expansion strengthens Robinhood’s push to develop an all-in-one investment platform for UK retail investors.

“A new wave of UK investors sees digital assets as an important part of a diversified portfolio,” said Jordan Sinclair, President of Robinhood U.K. Ltd and General Manager of Bitstamp UK Ltd. He added that the launch represents another step toward Robinhood’s goal of becoming an all-in-one investment platform for UK customers.

Alongside crypto trading, Robinhood is introducing Cortex Digests for Crypto, an AI-powered feature designed to provide market context in plain English. The tool analyzes breaking news, market data, technical indicators and Robinhood’s proprietary insights to explain factors influencing individual cryptocurrency prices.

The launch also expands Robinhood’s broader blockchain ecosystem in the UK. Developers can build on Robinhood Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain built on Arbitrum and connected to Robinhood’s onchain ecosystem.

Since its global launch on July 1, Robinhood said the blockchain has processed more than $18 billion in decentralized exchange trading volume and surpassed $840 million in total value locked.

The UK crypto launch marks another significant expansion for Robinhood as the company seeks to combine traditional financial products, digital assets and blockchain infrastructure within a single platform.
