Plus500 Ltd has announced a strategic partnership with Wealthsimple, expanding its business-to-business (B2B) infrastructure business while enabling Canadian retail investors to gain direct access to US futures markets for the first time.
Wealthsimple, one of Canada’s largest financial technology companies, serves more than 4 million customers and manages approximately C$150 billion in assets under administration. Through the new partnership, Plus500 will provide the institutional-grade infrastructure that powers US futures trading for Wealthsimple’s retail client base.
The agreement will see Plus500 deliver its proprietary clearing, order routing, and risk management technology, leveraging the same infrastructure that supports its regulated futures operations in the United States. Canadian retail investors using Wealthsimple will be able to trade US futures contracts through Plus500’s proprietary futures trading platform.
The partnership represents another milestone in Plus500’s expanding B2B strategy, reinforcing its position as a technology and infrastructure provider for financial institutions seeking regulated futures market access.
Plus500 Partners with Wealthsimple to Bring US Futures Trading
According to the company, Wealthsimple selected Plus500 because of its ability to provide a fully integrated solution that combines proprietary trading technology, CFTC-regulated clearing capabilities, and operational infrastructure under one platform.
The announcement follows several high-profile partnerships that have strengthened Plus500’s institutional presence. The company previously became a clearing partner for CME Group and FanDuel’s event-based contracts platform, while also partnering with proprietary trading firm Topstep. These collaborations have helped establish Plus500 as a key infrastructure provider in the rapidly growing futures trading ecosystem.
By expanding beyond its traditional retail brokerage business, Plus500 continues to diversify its revenue opportunities through technology licensing and institutional partnerships. The Wealthsimple agreement further broadens the company’s B2B footprint in North America, where demand for regulated futures trading solutions continues to increase.
Plus500 said its B2B partner ecosystem continues to grow, with additional partnership announcements already in the pipeline. As more financial firms seek institutional-grade infrastructure for futures trading, the company aims to capitalize on increasing demand by providing integrated clearing, execution, and risk management solutions.
The latest agreement underscores Plus500’s strategy of combining proprietary technology with regulated market infrastructure to support both retail trading platforms and institutional partners across the global futures industry.
