Clearstream has partnered with global alternative asset manager Brookfield to broaden investor access to private market strategies through its fund distribution platform.
The collaboration will make Brookfield’s Luxembourg-domiciled evergreen private market funds available through Clearstream’s distribution and order-routing infrastructure. The offering includes funds focused on infrastructure, private credit and private equity, giving wealth managers and distributors another route to alternative investments.
The partnership comes as private market products continue moving beyond traditional institutional investors and into wealth management portfolios. By integrating Brookfield’s fund range into its existing infrastructure, Clearstream aims to make alternative fund distribution more standardized and operationally similar to established mutual fund processes.
Clearstream Partners With Brookfield to Expand Private Market Fund Access
Also, for fund distributors, private banks and wealth managers, the integration could reduce some of the administrative complexity associated with accessing private market investments. Clearstream’s infrastructure is designed to support fund orders and settlement across its connected network, potentially making it easier for wealth channels to incorporate evergreen private market vehicles into client portfolios.
For Brookfield, the agreement provides access to Clearstream’s extensive network across global wealth management and private banking channels. The alternative asset manager, which has approximately $1 trillion in assets under management, is seeking to make its private market strategies more accessible to private wealth investors.
Also, Moritz Dechow, Head of Distribution for Clearstream Fund Services, said the partnership supports the company’s broader objective of expanding its private markets network and giving wealth managers more efficient tools for accessing alternative investments.
Tara Newbery, Managing Director in the Legal and Regulatory group for Brookfield’s Private Wealth group, described Clearstream’s reach across private banking and wealth channels and its operational infrastructure as key advantages of the partnership.
For investors, the development is less about introducing a new asset class than improving the distribution infrastructure around existing private market opportunities. As alternative investments become increasingly relevant to diversified wealth portfolios, standardized fund access and efficient settlement could become increasingly important for private banks and wealth managers seeking to scale allocations.
The Clearstream-Brookfield partnership therefore highlights the growing push to connect institutional-quality private market strategies with a broader wealth management audience while addressing the operational barriers that have historically surrounded alternative investments.
