UBS has launched YUMO, a new digital learning platform designed to make financial and economic topics easier to understand, particularly for young people in Switzerland.
Short for “Your Money,” YUMO focuses on practical financial issues that young adults encounter in everyday life. The interactive platform covers topics including creating a personal budget, understanding saving and investing, and learning how broader economic developments can affect daily financial decisions.
Rather than relying solely on traditional educational materials, YUMO uses short chapters, quizzes, videos and interactive exercises to make financial education more engaging. Users can explore their own money mindset, identify common financial mistakes and gain practical strategies for managing money.
UBS Launches YUMO Digital Platform to Boost Financial Literacy
The platform places particular emphasis on connecting financial decisions with personal goals. UBS said the aim is to help users develop the knowledge and confidence needed to make informed choices about their finances rather than simply providing theoretical information.
YUMO is available free of charge in German, French, Italian and English, making the platform accessible across Switzerland’s main linguistic regions as well as to English-speaking users.
While young people are the primary target audience, UBS said the platform can also support financial and economic education among people of different ages. The bank expects this broader approach to encourage discussions around financial decision-making and current economic issues between generations.
Sergio P. Ermotti, Group CEO of UBS, said financial literacy can help young adults gain greater control over their future and strengthen their financial independence.
The launch also extends UBS’s longer-standing efforts to make financial knowledge accessible to the public. The bank pointed to Money and Economics, a guide distributed in Switzerland during the 1970s by Schweizerische Volksbank, one of UBS’s predecessor institutions. The publication sought to explain financial and economic concepts in language accessible to everyday readers.
With YUMO, UBS is bringing that educational approach into a digital and interactive format. For younger users especially, the platform could provide a practical entry point into subjects such as budgeting, saving and investing at a time when financial decisions are becoming increasingly complex.
