S&P Global Market Intelligence has introduced ETF Intelligence, a new analytics solution designed to provide deeper insights into the global exchange-traded fund (ETF) market. The service combines proprietary datasets with market intelligence to help investors and institutions better understand ETF sectors, fund flows, investment themes, growth trends, and broader market dynamics.

The launch comes as the ETF industry continues to expand rapidly, driven by increasing investor demand and product innovation. According to S&P Global Market Intelligence, assets held in U.S. options-based ETFs have grown dramatically from less than $5 billion in 2019 to approximately $245 billion in 2025, highlighting the accelerating adoption of more sophisticated ETF strategies.

As the ETF ecosystem grows in size and complexity, market participants are placing greater emphasis on transparency around portfolio exposures, liquidity, valuations, and risk. ETF Intelligence aims to address these requirements by delivering comprehensive analytics covering more than 15,000 ETFs across major global markets.

The platform provides over 150 daily metrics, including fund flows, performance, liquidity, volatility, benchmark comparisons, and portfolio composition analysis. It also integrates ETF analytics with S&P Global’s proprietary datasets, enabling users to generate multi-dimensional insights and develop custom investment signals across multiple asset classes.

“As the ecosystem scales in both size and complexity, the ability to understand underlying exposures, liquidity and risk with greater precision is paramount,” said Paul Wilson, Head of Data, Pricing, Valuations & Analytics at S&P Global Market Intelligence. “Our aim in developing ETF Intelligence is to help clients better understand the forces shaping ETFs and to support more informed decision-making in a rapidly evolving market.”

In addition to daily analytics, ETF Intelligence includes more than a decade of historical data, allowing users to perform long-term trend analysis while also supporting real-time market decisions. The platform also offers sector and thematic intelligence, helping users evaluate investment trends, capital flows, and market developments.

S&P Global Market Intelligence said ETF Intelligence is here for a broad range of institutional users, including ETF issuers, index providers, hedge funds, asset managers, investment banks, quantitative traders, and research professionals. The launch further expands the company’s portfolio of cross-platform, multi-asset data and managed services solutions aimed at improving research, risk management, product development, and investment workflows.
